NGC 2509

The age estimate seems too large according to the magnitude difference the clump and top of the main sequence. In addition, the morphology of the red giant branch is not that of an old cluster.

2003 October 24

The catalogue of open clusters in the database, previously based on Lynga 5th catalogue, has been replaced by that of Wilton Dias as available on his Web site.

The parameters displayed on each cluster page also comes from Dias' compilation, which is mainly based on WEBDA parameter collection. Errors which were present in the distance-modulus values have been corrected.

Accordingly, the lists of clusters by right acension, by galactic longitude and increasing distance have been changed.
